Description

Golden West Broadcasting has been connecting communities for over 65 years. We are proud to tell local stories on our radio stations and digital news outlets across Western Canada.

Do you have a passion for writing? We are looking for a News Reporter to join our team. Reporting to the Content Director, you will find and deliver relevant stories to our audience.

The Role

-Crafting content: Your primary role will be to write digital and radio news stories.
-Gathering local stories: Find story ideas, interview sources, and verify information along the way.
-Cultivating local relationships
-Delivering news broadcasts

The Ideal Candidate

-You are eager to engage with the community.
-You are curious and like to learn new things.
-You have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and are familiar with the Canadian Press Guide.
-Previous experience in news reporting is an asset.
-Experience with Burli, audio editing software, photography, and/or videography are an asset.
-You are dedicated to your craft. You arent afraid to cover stories outside of business hours.
-You have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
