Firefighters are responsible for operating fire apparatus, performing firefighting, rescue and related duties under emergency situations and conditions, frequently involving hazards and hazardous materials. Firefighters are responsible for routine maintenance on equipment at the Fire Hall. Shift work, including weekends and public holidays is required.
Applicants must be in excellent physical condition; successfully completed Grade 12 or G.E.D. equivalency; be a graduate of a training institution accredited by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress; have National Fire Protection Association 1001 Firefighter Level I & II; be registered as a EMR in the province of Saskatchewan with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics; possess a valid Saskatchewan Class 3A driver's license or able to acquire one and provide a current driver's abstract; able to pass a medical examination; have the ability to communicate effectively and work well in a team environment; have no criminal record; related training and experience would be an asset. A CRC is required.

- The Fire Department will establish a hiring eligibility list. Being on this list does not guarantee you a position with the Department

- A written test may be required during the process. You may be asked to perform physical fitness testing
- As a condition of employment, you will need to be register with SCoP at minimum as an EMR
