Description

Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Utilities Summer Student to assist with maintaining water and sewer infrastructure. This position involves supporting senior staff in the operation and maintenance of essential facilities and equipment, while ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

The position is open to all qualified applicants and is covered by the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 3003 Collective Agreement.

Duties and Responsibilities    
    Assist with the operation and maintenance of water plants, sewer lifts, reservoirs, and more.
    Maintain and operate equipment such as trucks, jetters, and other tools.
    Help with water supply, treatment, and sewage collection.
    Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are ready when needed.
    Follow safety regulations and wear required protective gear.
    Assist with administrative tasks like timesheets and daily logs.
    Complete additional tasks as directed by the Utilities Manager.

Qualifications and Requirements:
    Some post-secondary education.
    Practical experience in utility operations and maintenance.
    Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Drivers License.
    Ability to communicate effectively, work independently, and take direction.
    Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
    WHMIS Certification required.
    Ability to work in confined spaces and with sewage-related tasks.
