The First Nations Health Ombudsperson seeks a Health Analyst with a medical background to support First Nation individuals in resolving health-service concerns. The role involves overseeing complaints, conducting investigations, and helping clients navigate complex health systems.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Investigate complaints, gather evidence, analyze findings, and support fair, timely resolutions
* Maintain confidentiality and uphold privacy standards
* Strong communication with empathy and professionalism
* Perform detailed analysis of complaints and provide strategic recommendations
* Analyze medical/technical information during investigations
* Use knowledge of community resources and client navigation pathways
* Manage high-volume caseloads and shifting priorities
* Handle sensitive client interactions with discretion and de-escalation skills
*Education & Certification*
* University degree in Health Administration, Indigenous Health, Nursing, Social Science, Social Work, Psychology, Law, or equivalent education/experience
* Healthcare experience preferred for understanding complex medical investigations
*Experience*
* Strong behavioural, technical, and analytical competencies
* Knowledge of First Nations health service delivery and access issues
* 3 to 5 years in investigations, complaints handling, mediation/ADR, or case management
* Strong communication skills, including traumainformed and deescalation approaches
