NIS Contractors are hiring experienced and dependable Heavy Equipment Operators to support water and sewer construction projects. This role is essential to building and maintaining underground infrastructure that communities rely on every day.

Key Responsibilities:
    Operate excavators, backhoes, loaders, crawler loads, dozers and other heavy equipment on water and sewer projects
    Perform trenching, grading, and backfilling for underground pipe installation
    Work safely around existing utilities and underground services
    Support installation of water mains, sanitary sewer, and storm systems
    Complete daily equipment inspections and perform basic maintenance

Qualifications:
    Experience operating heavy equipment in civil construction or underground utilities
    Strong understanding of excavation, trenching, and grading practices
    Ability to read plans and work to grade
    Valid drivers license (Class 1 or 3 is an asset)
    Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
    Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions

Preferred Experience:
    Water and sewer or municipal infrastructure projects
    GPS or laser grade control systems
    Safety certifications (First Aid, Confined Space, WHMIS, etc.)
