Description

As an Abatement Technician, youll play a hands-on role supporting day-to-day site operations, ensuring work areas are safe, organized, and running efficiently. You will assist with the safe and effective removal and disposal of hazardous materials such as asbestos, lead, mold, or other contaminants from various sites, including residential, commercial, and industrial properties. This role is ideal for someone who is goal-driven, positive, and thrives in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

Follow all health and safety protocols, including site-specific procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines
Assist in the set-up of containment areas and implementing safety measures to prevent asbestos fiber release
Complete required on-site documentation and paperwork accurately and on time
Safely removing and disposing of asbestos-containing materials by federal, provincial, and local regulations
Operating and maintaining specialized asbestos abatement equipment and tools
Communicate effectively with crew leaders and teammates to support smooth project flow
Qualifications
Experience in asbestos or hazardous material but not required (training will be provided).
Valid drivers license required
Valid 2-day asbestos abatement worker training ticket is an asset but we can provide
Basic construction skills and the ability to use common hand and power tools is an asset
Must be able to pass a fit test for respiratory protection.
Physically fit and capable of lifting up to 50lbs, bending, and working in various conditions
Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to follow instructions closely
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working with clients, vendors, and internal teams
Comfortable using smartphones or tablets for documentation and app-based tasks
