Applications are invited for a Temporary Full Time (1.00 FTE) Complexity and Early Literacy Consultant with duties to commence the beginning of the 2026 - 2027 school year and concluding June 30th, 2027.  This is a division-based position serving multiple schools throughout the North East School Division.

This role helps strengthen school-based capacity to respond to complex class environments. Part of this work will be to support the province's Actions to Improve Early Literacy.


The Complexity & Early Literacy Consultant (CEL) is a temporary position established to support schools in the following:

Building teacher capacity to respond to diverse and complex classroom needs through coaching, modeling, and collaborative problem-solving.

Strengthening the role of Classroom Complexity Teachers (CCTs) so they can more effectively support students and classroom environments.

Improving system processes such as Response to Intervention that reduce complexity and support students

Enhancing school-level responsiveness by helping teams interpret student needs, organize supports, and implement evidence-informed strategies.

Reducing classroom disruption by supporting early identification, intervention, and instructional adjustments.

Implementing reading screeners and supporting teachers with target specific interventions.
