Cultural Youth Support Worker

Employment Type: (1) Full Time Position
Closing Date: Friday April 3, 2026

The Cultural Youth Support Worker will support children, aged 0  18 in land based cultural and mental health support services.  CYSW will be able to deliver programming in addressing positive mental health activity, inclusive of counselling, cultural teachings, and land-based programming.  The CYSW will empower children/youth to become active, social, and engaged to be included in the family and community.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
    CYSW will delivery programming, addressing positive mental health activity, inclusive of counselling, cultural teachings, land-based programming.
    To provide support with cultural and traditional capacity development for youth
    To engage youth resilience while promoting health lifestyle choices, education, and health & wellness
    Supporting children in group mental health activity, scheduled programming that supports children to gain confidence and skills.
    Provide family activities, teaching rites of passage.
    Assist and engage youth in other areas of community development when requested (i.e.: NAAW, Treaty Day, Seasonal events, Elders events, cultural camps, etc.)
    Attending meetings and any professional development opportunities as requested.
    Respect and protect the privacy of information relating to all youth, community members, employees, and business affairs.
    Maintain current knowledge and practice of all relevant plans, policies and procedures as established by Flying Dust First Nation
    Provide monthly report of activities utilizing the reporting template.
