Summary:
The Safe and TogetherTM Engagement and Community Support Specialist position is ideally suited to an outgoing, dynamic, individual to lead the implementation of the Safe and TogetherTM model in Nipawin, with a specific focus on engaging perpetrators of violence. This position works under the direct supervision of the Executive Director and a stakeholder advisory group for maximum success.
The Specialist will engage community stakeholders to provide wrap-around supports for families; deliver culturally informed programming to perpetrators; and strengthen interagency collaboration as part of a Safe and TogetherTM community of practice in Saskatchewan. This initiative aims to strengthen and expand the implementation of the Safe and TogetherTM model across Saskatchewan, advancing community safety and coordinated responses to violence.
Position Objectives:
Increased access to Safe and Together aligned perpetrator programs that support behaviour change and accountability.
Strengthen community capacity through Safe and Together COREtrained stakeholders who can recognize, respond to, and intervene early in interpersonal violence.
Enhanced community engagement and coordinated responses to intimate partner violence, addictions, and housing needs through direct outreach and collaboration.
Improved cultural relevance and safety in perpetrator services through partnerships with First Nations communities and the integration of Indigenous knowledge into programming.
Qualifications
Must have at minimum a Bachelor's degree with demonstrated experience in community relations engagement and collaboration.
Experience and knowledge chairing/facilitation of meetings and ability to establish rapport quickly with stakeholders and navigate group dynamics
Ability to work flexible hours including some evenings/weekends
Must live within the Nipawin service area of North East Outreach and Support Services.
