The White Butte Museum is seeking a part-time Executive Director to lead operations, programming, and community engagement. The Executive Director reports to the Board Chair and is responsible for advancing the museum's mission, overseeing day-to-day operations, and supporting long-term sustainability.
The White Butte Museum is a registered non-profit dedicated to celebrating culture, nature, and heritage. The organization is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.
Responsibilities:
Provide strategic and operational leadership aligned with the museums mission
Act as liaison between the Board, community, and stakeholders
Oversee programs, events, and visitor experiences
Manage daily operations, finances, and administrative systems
Lead marketing efforts
Coordinate fundraising initiatives
Write grant applications
Manage special projects
Recruit and coordinate volunteers and seasonal staff
Maintain community partnerships and represent the museum at events
Ensure governance, policy, and regulatory compliance
Qualifications:
Experience in nonprofit, museum, cultural, or community-based leadership
Strong organizational, financial management, and fundraising skills
Experience working with boards and community stakeholders
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
Legally eligible to work in Canada and able to work on-site
Experience with eco-museums, heritage, or environmental initiatives
Grant writing and public funding experience
Knowledge of Saskatchewan's cultural and community landscape
Compensation & Terms:
Contract position (approx. 25 hours/month)
$40$50/hour, based on experience
Flexible, part-time schedule with some evenings/weekends
Monthly invoicing required
Criminal record check required
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
