The Ministry of Education provides leadership and direction to Saskatchewans education, early years, library and literacy sectors. The ministry is committed to providing equitable and inclusive education, early years and library systems that benefit all learners. It fundamentally places Indigenous knowledge systems, cultures and languages within structures, policies, and curricula. Consultants play an integral role in advancing the Canada-Saskatchewan Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care Agreement. Reporting to the Program Manager for the Southern region, these positions are responsible for:
- Developing, licensing, and monitoring child care services;
- Supporting parents and caregivers;
- Assisting community groups and individuals to meet their child care needs;
- Actively working towards the recruitment and retention of new licensed family child care providers in the area;
- Ensuring information about early childhood care and education is available to the public; and.
- Enforcing The Child Care Act and The Child Care Regulations.
A valid Saskatchewan drivers license and access to a personal vehicle are necessary, as intra-city and provincial travel, as well as overnight stays, are required.
