Description

The Drug Plan and Extended Benefits Branch is seeking a Client Services Pharmacist Manager to support provincial drug plan operations and lead the team responsible for drug coverage decisions, formulary implementation, and program policy. The ministry offers meaningful leadership work, competitive compensation, benefits, pension, vacation and SDOs, and opportunities to influence provincial drug programs.
The ministry is looking for an experienced pharmacist who can supervise staff, manage complex coverage issues, and collaborate with prescribers, pharmacists, and internal partners. The ideal candidate communicates clearly, works well in changing environments, and represents the branch effectively with provincial and national stakeholders.

Key knowledge and skills include understanding formulary processes, drug plan policies, clinical evidence review, pharmacoeconomics, and information management systems. Candidates must be able to interpret legislation, analyze data, assess drug coverage criteria, and provide clear policy and clinical recommendations. Strong organizational and stakeholderengagement abilities and awareness of emerging pharmaceutical trends are required. The role requires licensure with the Saskatchewan College of Pharmacy Professionals and a strong clinical pharmacy background. Knowledge is typically gained through an advanced pharmacy degree or equivalent education and experience with drug programs.

If space allows, responsibilities include supervising the pharmacist team, reviewing exceptional coverage requests, supporting formulary implementation, managing special benefit drug lists, leading communications, and advising senior leadership.
