Summary
The Shift Supervisor oversees team members to maintain operational standards set by the Manager. This role heavily emphasizes exceptional customer service, product quality, and maintaining a positive attitude.
Responsibilities
Operations Management: Work alongside staff to ensure product satisfaction and strictly enforce Verns Pizza operating standards. Assign duties, ensure optimal staff coverage, and assist in various roles during busy periods to maintain efficiency. Ensure staff adherence to all policies regarding food safety, cash handling, and breaks. Escalate complex customer or employee issues to management.
Personnel Management: Lead by example, treat customers respectfully, and react constructively to shift challenges. Provide specific direction, support, and training to new and existing staff. Foster a supportive work environment and report on team performance to the Manager. Assist with recruitment and retention strategies.
Health & Safety: Comply with occupational health and safety legislation. Enforce safe work practices and ensure all safety policies are followed during the shift. Immediately inform the Manager of any injuries, unsafe conditions, or security incidents.
Qualifications
* At least one year of supervisory or management experience in the restaurant industry.
* Demonstrated leadership, strong communication skills, and a positive attitude.
* Ability to work independently, collaborate as a team player, and effectively manage long shifts.
* Fit body to be able to reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 20 kgs.
