Description

The City of Moose Jaw is seeking to fill two permanent positions for a Sanitation Truck Driver position in the Environmental Services Branch, Operation Department.

The position will perform the following duties:
-    Maintain and operate a City-owned vehicle and equipment related to solid waste collection, landfill operations, material management and diversion.
-    Obtain and hold the necessary driving license/equipment certification to perform assigned duties.
-    Utilize all personal protective equipment provided and perform the duties in a safe manner.
-    Tag, record and advise Supervisor or Crew Lead of any garbage and/or containers that do not comply with Solid Waste Bylaw.
-    Perform the required maintenance of the unit or units assigned; ensure unit or units are operated in a safe and efficient manner at all times.
-    Report on all minor and major repairs.
-    Work weekends and shift work as required.
-    Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

The ideal candidate will have:
-    Class 3A driver's license.
-    Physical ability to perform heavy manual Labour lifting up to 50 pounds.
-    Ability to direct and supervise other employees.
-    Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relations with supervisors and other employees.
-    Ability to achieve certification on skid steer, front end loader and hook/roll off truck
-    Work courteously and tactfully with the general public.
