This is a full time or part time position, depending on the candidate's preference. The hours for this position are Monday-Friday from 8:00-5:00 (no evenings or weekends). The primary duties include pre-testing patients before they see the doctor (training provided) and reception/administrative duties.
Key Accountabilities:
As the primary point of contact for our patients, the receptionist/optometric assistant is responsible for providing exemplary customer service. This individual will be professional and efficient in completing a wide variety of reception and administrative tasks.
Major Activities Include:
- Ensure smooth flow of reception operations
- Pleasantly greet patients
- Answer telephones professionally: responding to routine inquiries, book appointments, direct calls and obtain messages
- Conduct pretesting duties
- Process Financial transactions
- Prepare letters and other documentation
- Manage and maintain patient database
Requirements:
Education:
- Completion of grade twelve or equivalent
- Office Assistant Certification an asset, but is not a mandatory requirement
- Optometry/Medical office experience a strong asset
