Description

Your goal will be to quote, procure, and approve parts and suppliers.  You will be a liaison between the Bourgault R&D departments and purchasing department to ensure seamless transitions for new product development and changes to existing products.  

Responsibilities:
-Identify the best source for new and existing R&D changes.
-Prepare RFQs and approve submitted quotations on new and existing parts.
-Work alongside the concurrent production engineering team to conduct make/buy decisions.
-Perform site visitations; assess capabilities, and quality process leading to supplier approval or rejection.
-Identify and implement cost savings initiatives.
-Work with the Strategic Sourcing Specialist to determine the best course of action for domestic or international procurement of parts.
-Monitor and work with the procurement team to assess supplier performance for Quality, Delivery, Cost, Inventory and Innovation.
-Mitigate risk by continually upgrading our supply base to moving business from those who do not meet performance expectations.
-Maintain good relationships with suppliers by utilizing impartial and objective criteria, while understanding sales tactics intended to blur those criteria.
-Ability to independently execute on many different projects at the same time without jeopardizing the timelines or schedules.

Qualifications:
-Proven Negotiation Skills.
-An Engineering Degree and/or Professional Designation .
-A willingness to travel to supplier locations.
-Excellent written & verbal communication, engagement, and interpersonal skills.
-Self-Directed and disciplined to execute on multiple projects concurrently while maintaining required timelines.
-An ability to building strong, trusting relationships within and external to the company.
-A strong sense of urgency and the ability to overcome barriers to achieve overall departmental goals.
