Description

We are seeking a passionate, flexible, and community-oriented professional to join our team as a Community Mental health Counsellor. This role combines elements of justice support, community outreach, and client navigation to ensure individuals in our community have access to services, supports, and meaningful connections.
Key Responsibilities:Provide one-on-one support to victims of violence navigating the justice system, including reporting to the RCMP, connecting with victim services, and navigating court processes.
Conduct community outreach, engaging with vulnerable populations, building trust, and connecting individuals to resources, including the Thread Program.
Act as a community connector, liaising with partner agencies, service providers, and community organizations to ensure holistic support.
Support clients with crisis intervention, safety planning, and referral to appropriate services.
Assist with the development and implementation of programs, workshops, and events that promote social inclusion and empowerment.
Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and case notes following organizational policies and confidentiality standards.
Qualifications:Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in social work, justice studies, community development, or a related field.
Experience in community outreach, justice system navigation, or client support services is preferred.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends
Knowledge of local community resources, justice system processes, an asset
Commitment to cultural safety, equity, and inclusion, particularly in working with Indigenous communities and other marginalized groups.
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
