Summer Student JobAn employee in this temporary student placement position will provide technical support for a variety of field and/or office assignments within Operation & Maintenance group.
Typical duties and responsibilities may include:
Assist with the operation, maintenance, and inspection throughout the province primarily for the Operations and Maintenance group.
Conduct vegetation control at various WSA owned infrastructure. This involves operating ATVs, powered mobile equipment, and various hand tools.
Assist with conducting field investigations and inspections, including assisting with the evaluation of environmental and topographic conditions.
Provide technical assistance in performing various surveys in accordance with established engineering procedures and practices.
Assist with preliminary construction and post construction surveys in accordance with established engineering procedures and practices.
Assist with and/or perform relevant technical
calculations in both the field and office.
Assist with preparing applicable reports, technical documentation, and drawings; and
Assist in undertaking maintenance/ operations of corporate equipment and facilities.
Work may require considerable travel, an irregular work schedule and, on occasion, extended absences from headquarters. Travel, sustenance, and accommodation will be provided when required to work away from headquarters.
