Description

The Ministry of Community Safety offers a leadership opportunity to support the integrity, safety, and effectiveness of Saskatchewans justice system. Headquartered in Saskatoon, this role oversees Court Security and Prisoner Management services across the Central Region, including Saskatoon, North Battleford, and Lloydminster. As a Court Security Inspector and Special Constable, the position operates under federal and provincial legislation and plays a key role in ensuring safe court operations for judges, staff, accused persons, and the public.

The ministry is seeking an experienced, accountable leader with strong judgment, integrity, and people management skills. The ideal candidate is a confident decision-maker who can lead large teams in complex environments, foster a respectful and inclusive workplace, and collaborate effectively with justice partners, staff, and the public.

Candidates will have demonstrated senior management experience and strong knowledge of security, corrections, law enforcement, criminal justice, and court procedures. Excellent written and oral communication skills, sound problem-solving abilities, and strong computer proficiency with Word, Excel, and PDF documents are required. A valid drivers licence with a safe driving record is mandatory. During probation, the successful candidate must meet physical fitness standards, complete required self-defence, firearms, First Aid, CPR, and Inspector training, and successfully pass psychological and authorization requirements under The Police Act.
