Description

The Ministry of Social Services offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting positive outcomes for children, families, and communities across Saskatchewan. This role supports the ministrys mandate in child and family services by contributing to protective, preventative, and support programs grounded in the Family Centered Case Management Model and the P.R.I.D.E. Model of Practice. The position is based in Nipawin, a safe and welcoming community with strong services and growth opportunities.

The ministry is seeking dynamic, committed professionals who are passionate about child safety and family well-being. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who supports staff through coaching, mentoring, and empowerment, and who can step into a supervisory role when required while fostering inclusive, respectful, and culturally responsive service delivery.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work from an accredited university and be eligible through SASW/CASW or CASWE. Several years of experience in Child Protection or Child and Family Services, including supervision of professional staff, is required. The role requires strong knowledge of child abuse, neglect, domestic violence, relevant legislation and policies, and social work theories. Cultural competence is essential, particularly knowledge of First Nations and Metis values and practices, along with the ability to work effectively with community partners and First Nations CFS agencies.
Responsibilities include coaching and training staff, supporting placements and caregivers, assisting with service coordination across programs and agencies, acting as a liaison with community and First Nations partners, and representing the ministry on committees as required.
