Description

The Ministry of Social Services offers an opportunity to support the safety, stability, and well-being of children and families while helping build stronger communities across Saskatchewan. These term positions are based in the Nipawin and Melfort offices and focus on delivering childrens services using the P.R.I.D.E. Model and the Family Centered Case Management Model of practice. The ministry provides meaningful work, competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and growth opportunities within an inclusive and collaborative environment.

The ministry is seeking individuals who value relationships, community connection, and culturally responsive practice. The ideal candidate is committed to working respectfully with children, caregivers, and families, demonstrates sound judgment and critical thinking, and is able to collaborate effectively with coworkers, First Nation Child and Family Service agencies, and community partners.

Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work from an accredited university, or a Human Service degree or Social Work Certificate with relevant related experience. Accepted human service degrees include sociology, psychology, education, human justice, Indigenous studies, or nursing disciplines. Strong knowledge of multicultural beliefs and values, particularly First Nations and Metis, along with an understanding of poverty, systemic barriers, risk assessment, and case planning is essential. A valid Saskatchewan drivers licence is required, as the role includes travel, flexible hours including evenings or weekends, and transporting children or parents.
