Description

Do not miss this opportunity to join Community Corrections in Creighton as a Probation Officer/Community Youth Worker, delivering meaningful services to youth and adults while enjoying a balanced northern lifestyle. This role offers a fastpaced, rewarding environment where no two days are the same and where professional growth is supported within a collaborative, dedicated team.

Community Corrections is seeking individuals who are motivated, adaptable, and committed to supporting positive behavioural change. The ideal candidate can work effectively with diverse and sometimes resistant individuals, communicate clearly, and collaborate with justice partners and community organizations to support offender management and rehabilitation in the community.

Candidates must possess a degree or diploma from an accredited university or college with a focus on behavioural change, assessment, or human services. Relevant disciplines include Correctional Studies, Justice Studies, Community and Justice Services, Social Work, or Mental Health, or meet grandfathering provisions under Community Corrections qualifications. Strong knowledge of addictions, domestic violence, poverty, mental health, disabilities, family dynamics, abuse and neglect is required, along with proven written and verbal communication skills, risk assessment abilities, and case planning experience. A valid drivers licence is required, as the role includes travel and flexible hours, including evenings. Relocation assistance may be available with a service commitment.

Responsibilities include preparing court reports, completing assessments, developing and monitoring case plans, supervising offenders in the community, and working with community partners to provide an integrated and responsive approach to supervision and rehabilitation.
