Description

The Saskatoon Industry Education Council (SIEC) is seeking an enthusiastic team-oriented individual to coordinate a variety of student engagement programs as well as facilitate the Saskatchewan Youth Internship Program on behalf of the SIEC.

Through strong partnerships among business, K-12 education, and post-secondary institutions, SIEC delivers hands-on career exploration and experiential learning programs and events that connect youth passions with the province's workforce needs.

The SIEC is searching for someone who believes in and can connect positively with youth; enjoys a team-oriented environment; easily networks with employers, businesses, educators and other stakeholders; is a planner and organizer with an attention to details; is excited to give presentations to large groups; is a leader who motivates, guides and mentors others; and thrives in a fast paced environment.  

Key responsibilities include:

- Overseeing the Saskatchewan Youth Internship Program, where approximately 140 students are matched with employers for real work experience.  This includes the hiring and supervising of Summer Job Coaches as employees to assist in the program.
- Leading and implementing the Safety@Work Program for Youth.
- Coordinating and facilitating multiple "Spotlight on Careers" events for students.
- Supporting other staff with additional initiatives and programs as needed.

The role includes skills and tasks that typically require someone who has three to five years of experience in working with youth including both developing and coordinating youth programs, as well as facilitating workshops and events. The successful individual must be proficient in the use of computers using the full range of Microsoft Office software, Canva, and online interactive platforms, etc. They will require a valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, and able to meet a criminal record check.
