The Ministry of Community Safety offers a senior leadership opportunity to influence and advance health, mental health, and addictions services across Saskatchewans provincial correctional facilities. Reporting to the Executive Director of Health Services, the Director of Health Administration provides systemwide strategic leadership that shapes policies, standards, and operational practices across seven correctional health units. This role plays a critical part in improving health outcomes, integrating innovative service models, and ensuring consistent, highquality care for individuals in custody while supporting the ministrys vision of safe and just communities.
The ministry is seeking a knowledgeable, collaborative leader with experience navigating complex health systems, ideally within corrections, government, or public health environments. The successful candidate is a strategic thinker who applies data and evidence to policy and program design, builds strong relationships with internal and external partners, and leads teams through change.
Key qualifications include experience in health policy development, performance measurement, and quality improvement, along with an understanding of public health legislation, correctional health operations, and digital health solutions such as electronic health records and virtual care.
Expertise in workforce planning, education strategies, and culturally safe, traumainformed care is required.
The role typically requires an undergraduate degree in a regulated health profession, preferably with a clinical background; postgraduate education in health administration or leadership is an asset, as is professional licensure and progressive leadership experience.
