Description

Southeast College is looking for an Applied Research Student to join their team in Estevan. Student Researchers support applied research and innovation projects while contributing to the design, development, testing, and implementation of real-world technical solutions.

Typical duties of the Applied Research Student may include, but are not limited to:
Contribute to the development, testing, and maintenance of software systems and technical projects.
Assist with the design, implementation, and documentation of applied research and software development initiatives.
Support data collection, analysis, and troubleshooting activities related to project work.
Collaborate with faculty, researchers, and students to plan and execute project tasks.
Participate in project meetings and provide updates on progress and technical challenges.
Document project work, technical processes, and results for internal reporting or knowledge sharing.
Assist with coordination of project activities, events, or demonstrations related to applied research initiatives.  

QUALIFICATIONS
Currently enrolled in a bachelors degree program in computer science, software engineering, or a related STEM field.
Experience contributing to software development, technical projects, or research activities through coursework, internships, co-op placements, or independent projects.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
Ability to learn new technologies and technical concepts quickly.
