Job Summary:
The Building Maintenance Worker, under the direction of the Facilities Manager is responsible for
performing general maintenance and repair for Cosmopolitan Industries Ltd. The incumbent completes
general carpentry and maintenance work as required. The Building Maintenance Worker also performs
basic repairs and maintenance on vehicles.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop effective working relationships with all staff and program participants to ensure a
respectful and positive work environment is achieved.
2. Perform regular preventive maintenance and minor repairs on building, facilities and vehicles
belonging to Cosmopolitan Industries Ltd. (carpentry and construction, plumbing, painting
etc.).
3. Perform regular workplace inspections to determine areas that need maintenance or repair;
advise Facilities Manager of required major repairs or replacements.
4. Ensure that any required maintenance and repairs are completed in a timely manner.
5. Maintain adequate supplies for the maintenance department.
6. Comply with Saskatchewan OH&S safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work
areas.
7. Safely use a variety of hand and power tools and material handling equipment while
performing duties.
8. Complete all necessary reports and records related to the department as required.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Education
Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
Qualifications
Valid Saskatchewan Drivers license; must maintain a driving record that is acceptable to
Cosmopolitan Industries Ltd.
Experience
Experience completing minor repairs and preventative building maintenance in an industrial setting is
desirable.

Physical Demands
Long periods of standing and/or bending may be required. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
