Description

The Ministry of Community Safety is offering a senior leadership opportunity to oversee and strengthen the delivery of health, mental health, and addictions services across Saskatchewans provincial adult and youth correctional facilities. Reporting to the Executive Director of Health Services, the Director of Health Operations provides systemwide operational and strategic leadership, ensuring consistent, highquality care aligned with provincial standards, legislation, and clinical best practices. This role offers the opportunity to drive innovation, support continuous improvement, and make a meaningful impact on client care and health service operations within a complex correctional environment.

The Ministry is seeking an experienced, collaborative leader with a strong ability to manage multidisciplinary health teams, budgets, and contracted services in institutional or government settings.

Key qualifications include significant leadership experience in health service delivery, expertise in evidenceinformed practice and quality improvement, and a strong understanding of public health, health legislation, and correctional system operations. Excellent communication skills, experience in stakeholder engagement, and the ability to lead systemlevel transformation are required.

The position typically requires an undergraduate degree in a regulated health care profession with a clinical background; postgraduate education in health administration or leadership is an asset, as is professional licensure and experience in a unionized environment. Responsibilities include overseeing provincewide health operations, managing contracts, using data to improve outcomes, and leading recruitment and workforce development.
