Join our team as a Cognitive Disability Consultant!

The Cognitive Disability Consultant consults with the clinical team, families, and service providers that care for, support, and treat participants with cognitive disabilities. The Cognitive Disability Consultant designs behavioural support strategies and provides direction and support to the team for implementation and evaluation. The Cognitive Disability Consultant provides specialized training to improve the knowledge and skills of those providing care and support to the participants. The Cognitive Disability Consultant works within the provincial Cognitive Disability Strategy framework, collaborating with several community resources to provide better access, assessment, and diagnosis for those with a cognitive disability.

Services
* Design behavioural support strategies in alignment with the four component areas of positive behaviour support, including ecological strategies, positive programming, focused support strategies, and reactive strategies.
* Consult and collaborate with the initial assessment team to support effective implementation and evaluation of the behavioural support strategies.
* Manage and enhance integrated case planning by integrating goals and outcomes with formal and informal supports.
* Provide consultation services to intake and planning teams regarding strategies to support the participants.
* Provide on-site consultation to participants.
* Provide supportive intervention to the individuals family; help problem solve and work with families to become more knowledgeable in cognitive disabilities.
* Provide support to the treatment team and monitor treatment plans.
* Design, initiate, and conduct training on cognitive disabilities, behaviour support strategies, and effective intervention planning.
* Provide individual and group training to the clinical team, families, and service providers.
