Description

Muskoday First Nation is seeking enthusiastic, energetic, and highly motivated individual(s) to fulfill a Full Time and Casual positions of the Community Support Worker (CSW) Role. The CSW will work closely with our Family Well-Being and Community Addictions Teams, as well Community Culture, Recreation, and Sports Teams.

Developing, assisting and supporting after-hours programming in the community is the objective of this position, and may require transport of youth, children, and families. The successful CSW will be knowledgeable or willingness to learn Muskoday values and traditions. Positive teamwork and inter-department communication is crucial, as the CSW will be making necessary outside referrals, as well as connecting clients to services within the community. Establishing and maintaining cooperative and collaborative working relationships with co-workers and community members is crucial. CSW?s promote healthy lifestyles and healthy child parenting, while also recognizing and reporting possible child abuse or neglect in the community.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have valid Class 5 licence and reliable vehicle
Must be able to work evening/weekend shifts
Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector check
General understanding of holistic healing and wellness, Social Determinants to Health for Indigenous Peoples, and the history and stories of Muskoday First Nation
Knowledge of the impacts of Residential Schools and Intergenerational Trauma
SKILLS
General knowledge of child development
Self-motivated and organized
Knowledge and respect of Indigenous laws and values
Screen children for risks/vulnerabilities and developing safety plans with people or families in crisis
Promote well-being to community
Knowledge of or willingness to learn Cree language
