As a Utility Operator, you will play a key role in facility operations. Responsibilities include operating bagging and toting lines, loading and unloading materials, and maintaining the maintenance shop and parts areas. You will work with other operators on equipment cleanouts, changeovers, warehouse and yard cleaning, and general maintenance.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Operate tote and bag filling systems
Use inventory systems to label products (lot numbers, weights, IDs)
Load and unload incoming/outgoing products
Assist with plant clean-up, changeovers, and maintenance
Maintain preventative maintenance programs and checklists
Keep shop and parts areas clean and food-safe
Support plant improvements and capital projects
Order and source parts for equipment
Participate in food safety audits and follow GMPs
Operate powered mobile equipment
Complete daily documentation and reports
Support sanitation and food safety standards
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong organization and decision-making skills
Mechanical aptitude (asset)
Good math and analytical skills
Intermediate English (read/write/speak)
Computer skills (Word, Excel, data entry)
Self-motivated team player able to multitask
Physically able to lift 50 lbs and climb ladders/stairs
Able to work in a grain environment with allergens
Typical schedule is MondayFriday, 8 hours/day; shift work (including weekends) may be required.
