Truck Driver is responsible for hauling grain from the field to designated bins and from the farm to the elevator. The Truck Driver also assists with other activities involved in the seeding, growing and harvesting operations.
General Duties Include:
Hauling Grain
Transport grain primarily within Saskatchewan, with occasional long-haul routes as required.
Follow all transportation laws and weight regulations, ensuring proper load securement and documentation.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, reporting any maintenance concerns promptly.
Haul grain from field to bin and farm to elevator.
Submit records to the farm Administrator as required.
Operate Equipment related to general farm work and the planting, growing and harvesting of crops in a safe and productive manner.
Assist with mechanical repairs.
Ensure equipment is stored in a clean condition, out of the weather elements if possible.
General maintenance; fuel filling, greasing, oiling, wash and detail cleaning of cabs, updating equipment records.
Mixing chemicals in collaboration with the Grain Operations Manager when required
Ensure cleanliness of all buildings and the farmyard itself (garbage disposal, cutting grass, trimming trees, etc.)
Requirements
Skills and Attributes
Class 1A License with air brake certification, clean abstract preferred.
Experience with off-road and soft-field driving, particularly in harvest conditions, is an asset.
Ability to operate super B grain trailers and understand weight distribution and load balancing.
Adhere to all farm and road safety protocols, including proper PPE use and defensive driving practices.
Experience operating a variety of equipment related to growing and harvesting crops.
Able to perform basic maintenance on tractors, augers, air seeders, harrows, pumps, sprayers, swathers, semis, combines, grain car
