Description

RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee key HR areas and provide guidance on talent management practice, employee relations, labour relations and payroll, as well as all people related programs and processes
Providing leadership to the Human Resources Advisors, Payroll, Occupational Health & Safety, Marketing and Executive Assistants.
Collaborating with the Pioneer Co op leaders to create and drive organizational strategy and ensure consistent HR practices across all areas.
Partnering closely with the CEO to provide advice on peoples practices.
Developing HR policies that support key organizational activities and programs.
Assisting in collective bargaining activities, participating in negotiations, and providing guidance for effective grievance handling and arbitration preparation.
Provides thoughtful guidance on complex HR and organizational matters, balancing strategic priorities, risk and operational excellence.
Contributing to a workplace culture built in alignment with the Co-operatives vision, mission, values and goals.
Ensure legal and regulatory compliance across the association; proactively identify and address HR Related legislative and regulatory risk.

REQUIREMENTS
Requires an undergraduate Degree in HR or Business, preference for Human Resources. 8+ years of Human Resources experience with 4+ years at a management level. CPHR designation an asset. Broad general knowledge of HR practices with experience in unionized environment. Establish local HR frameworks, standards, policies and best practices to meet the evolving needs of the business, current and future policies, trends and information. Proactively anticipates and assesses needs, gaps, challenges, developing solutions to address risks and operational excellence. Utilizes HR analytics and workforce metrics to drive data informed decision making. Upholds high standards of values, ethics, privacy and confidentiality, brand inclusion efforts in all HR practices.
