Equipment Mechanic, Equipment Technician, Preventative Maintenance Technician, Crew Foreman, Landscape Foreman, Irrigation Foreman, Chemical Application Technician and other assigned duties.
This is a key positionand second in command within the Golf Course Maintenance Department. Works directly with the Golf Course Head Superintendent to help develop a daily work schedule and coordinate the related activities and necessary equipment with the staff. Training, supervision and reviewing of golf course employees along with supervision of assigned construction projects adn specific maintenance acitivies on the golf course and club groundsm fall under the Assistant Superintendent.
Works with Head Superintendent and other key staff members to constantly improve the golf course, club grounds and maintenance facility and compound, plus all safety programs.
Assists the Head Superintendent with record keeping for supplies, daily logs, application records, weather condition records and equipment maintenance records.
Ability to perform ehavy physical labour. May be required to work in an environment that includes such acitvities as bending, lifting, stooping, kneeling, climbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling and grasping for up to 5 hours without sitting. May need to lift up to 100lbs. occasionally and up to 50 lbs. frequently.
The employee holding this position may be required to perform other, on the job related duties as requested.
The following certifications must be obtained and maintained and must be valid prior to the first day of recall at the beginning of each fiscal year:
- WHIMIS
- OH & S 1
- Fertilizer Application
- First Aid/CPR
