Description

Position Summary
The Town of Radville is seeking a Summer Student to support the Public Works Department for the summer of 2026. This position involves a variety of maintenance and operational tasks. The successful candidate must be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, while maintaining a professional attitude.

Qualifications
    Currently enrolled in or recently completed high school
    Valid Class 5 Drivers License
    Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
    Physically capable of performing manual labour in outdoor conditions

Skills and Abilities
    Ability to accurately record equipment usage and supply data
    Professional and respectful when interacting with the public
    Strong attention to cleanliness and workplace safety
    Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
    Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
    Previous maintenance or operations experience is considered an asset
    Willingness to learn and operate various equipment

Primary Responsibilities
    Vegetation Control: Grass cutting, trimming, and related duties
    Facility & Equipment Maintenance: Painting, sign installation/repair, road patching, etc.
    Tracking & Documentation: Recording equipment usage and supply inventory

Additional Responsibilities
    Maintain a safe and clean work environment
    Follow all safety procedures and protocols
    Demonstrate reliability, initiative, and a strong work ethic
    Maintain confidentiality when required
    Perform other duties as assigned
    May be required to work evenings or weekends in emergency situations
