Dispatcher

Are you looking for an opportunity that is both interesting and varied day to day? Is being organized one of your best qualities? SOUTHLAND Transportation may have the opportunity for you! We are currently seeking Dispatchers to join our growing team based in North Battleford; both full-time and part-time positions available.

Responsible for scheduling / coordinating our team of School Bus Drivers, this position is tailor-made for an industry professional with a focus on customer service and passenger satisfaction. The shift for this position is Monday through Friday, dayshift (may vary based on business demands).

Wage: Up to $24.00 per hour + benefits (for full-time employees)

Qualifications:

Experience in dispatching, customer service, or within the school bus industry are considered assets
Good knowledge of North Battleford and surrounding area
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally while exhibiting confidentiality and diplomacy
Ability to handle stressful situations in a composed manner
Customer service focus
Expertise in organizational planning and problem solving
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure that drivers and staff are treated in a fair and consistent manner using the guidelines and rules set down in the Driver's Handbook and Policy and Procedures manual
Ensure school routes are covered in an efficient and fair manner
Assist in answering public and driver inquiries and finding solutions to concerns
Ensure all required paperwork/requests are completed in an accurate and timely manner
Be aware of the yard bus situation and work with the Maintenance department to ensure that all units are maintained in working order in a timely manner
Keep appropriate staff informed of any major issues, changes, concerns etc. in an expedient fashion
General office duties as required
