GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
The Communications Consultant is accountable for providing leadership and innovative communications services for the Agency. This position is also responsible for development and ongoing management of the Agencys external website. The Communications Consultant may be expected to act in the absence of the Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in a related field, such as Public Relations, Communications or Journalism supplemented with several years experience in a communications role, or a suitable combination of education and experience.
SKILLS:
- Knowledge of communication techniques, methods, standards, mediums, equipment and software.
- Professional writing and presentation skills
- Must possess a high degree of confidentiality, discretion and sound judgment.
- Ability to work independently and participate as a contributing member of a team to ensure goals and objectives are met.
- Knowledge of culturally responsive care for First Nations and Mtis people.
- Ability to identify and frame key issues and messages by gathering, analyzing and integrating conflicting and sometimes incomplete information from numerous sources.
