Description

The Ministry of Social Services is offering opportunities for Child Protection Assistant Supervisors, supporting programs that strengthen children, families, and communities. They are seeking individuals dedicated to improving the wellbeing of children and families, with a Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work from an accredited institution, along with several years of experience in Child Protection or Childrens Services and supervising professional staff. Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities, and work effectively with colleagues, caregivers, and community partners.

Key knowledge and skills include understanding indicators of child abuse, neglect, and domestic violence; expertise in policy and practice within Child and Family programs; familiarity with multicultural beliefs and values, particularly First Nations and Mtis; and experience applying social work theories. Strong communication, decisionmaking, and relationshipbuilding abilities are essential.

Responsibilities include coaching and training staff, providing leadership in the supervisors absence, supporting placements and caregivers, liaising with First Nations CFS agencies, assisting with service delivery across programs, and representing the ministry on committees.
