Description

The Ministry of Social Services is offering opportunities for Child Protection Workers in the Creighton office to support children and families under The Child and Family Services Act and The Adoption Act. They are seeking candidates with a Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work from an accredited institution, approved by SASW/CASW or CASWE. Successful applicants must be able to travel, work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, and transport children and families as part of service delivery. Strong assessment, communication, and decisionmaking abilities are essential, along with the capacity to work collaboratively with families, caregivers, and First Nation Child and Family Service agencies.

Key knowledge and skills include assessing child safety, investigating allegations of neglect or abuse, evaluating family functioning, determining risk, developing and implementing intervention plans, and providing ongoing support. Candidates must be able to manage cases where children enter care, including placement, assessment, treatment planning, and preparing children for reunification or longterm care planning.

Responsibilities include initiating Family Court proceedings, coordinating services, and supporting childrens health, social, psychological, and educational needs.
