The North Service Areas are seeking term Child Protection Workers in Nipawin and Melfort to deliver services under The Child and Family Services Act and The Adoption Act, using a Family Centered Case Management approach.
The ministry is looking for committed, compassionate professionals who can work with diverse families, respond to complex situations, collaborate with community partners including First Nation Child and Family Service agencies, and manage demanding workloads. Candidates must be able to travel, work flexible hours, and transport children or families as needed.
Qualified applicants will hold a Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work from an accredited institution. Key knowledge and skills include assessing child safety, investigating allegations of neglect or abuse, evaluating family functioning, determining risk, developing and implementing intervention plans, and providing ongoing support. Strong judgment, communication skills, cultural awareness, and the ability to work in emotionally challenging environments are essential.
Responsibilities may include initiating Family Court proceedings, coordinating placements and treatment planning for children in care, and supporting reunification or longterm planning.
