Description

The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA), Air Operations, is inviting applications for a Pilot - First Officer to be based in La Ronge or Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. In anticipation of future staffing demands, applications will be added to an eligibility list, to be shortlisted for position vacancies, as they may arise.

The SPSA is a Treasury Board Crown Agency responsible for provincial emergency management, fire safety and wildfire management in our province.  Air Operations maintains a fleet of AC690 Turbo Commander, Canadair CL-215T, and Convair 580A aircraft to provide aerial firefighting and emergency response support to the public of Saskatchewan in compliance with Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs).

A successful candidate will be responsible to provide service to the public of Saskatchewan and participate as a team member in delivering the highest level of service in an environment that stresses safety, security and comfort.

You will have the following qualifications:
Required Experience:
Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL)
2500 Hours Pilot in Command (PIC), incl. 1000 hrs multi-engine PIC, 500 hrs PIC IFR
Prior experience on Tanker aircraft (CV-580 or CL-15/415) in forest fire suppression an asset
Valid Class I Medical Certificate as outlined by Transport Canada
Ability to pass an annual Pilot Proficiency Check (PPC) on the assigned aircraft as outlined by Transport Canada
Required Knowledge:
Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs)
Handling and Transportation of Dangerous Goods
Aircraft surface contamination
Cockpit Resource Management
Wild Land Fire Suppression methods and strategies
Fire Weather, fuel types and how they affect fire behavior
Wilderness survival and first aid, and
All other training requirements as set out in the Companys Training Programs Manual
