The North Service Areas are seeking Child Protection Workers in Meadow Lake to deliver services under The Child and Family Services Act and The Adoption Act. Candidates must be able to travel, work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, and transport children or families as part of service delivery.
Qualified applicants will hold a Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work from an accredited institution. Key knowledge and skills include assessing child safety, investigating allegations of neglect or abuse, evaluating family functioning, identifying risk, developing intervention plans, and providing ongoing support. Strong communication, sound judgment, cultural awareness, and the ability to work in emotionally challenging environments are essential.
Responsibilities may include initiating Family Court proceedings, coordinating placements and treatment planning for children in care, and supporting reunification or longterm planning.
