The Ministry of Social Services supports positive outcomes for individuals and families through income assistance, child and family services, disability supports, and housing programs. Candidates joining the Creighton/Sandy Bay rotation will work extended shifts over a fourweek cycle, with scheduled days off, potential traveltime compensation, and access to staff housing. Child Protection Workers may also provide emergency duty coverage when required.

Successful candidates will be adaptable, able to work long shifts, travel regularly, and transport children or parents within the service area. Strong communication, sound judgment, cultural awareness, and the ability to manage emotionally challenging situations are essential.
Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Social Work, Bachelor of Indian/Indigenous Social Work, or an equivalent accredited degree. Key knowledge and skills include assessing child safety, investigating allegations of neglect or abuse, evaluating family functioning, identifying risk, developing intervention plans, and providing ongoing support using the Family Centered Case Management Model. Experience working with diverse communities, including First Nation Child and Family Service agencies, is valuable.
Responsibilities may include coordinating placements, supporting treatment planning, assisting with reunification or longterm care planning, and participating in court processes.
