Description

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Carry out mandate of Child & Family Services using a strength-based approach
Gather, analyze, and interpret child/family information for assessments and case planning
Report to Protection Supervisor
Identify, document, and respond to indicators of abuse, neglect, and emotional injury
Complete Structural Decision-Making (SDM) risk assessments at required stages
Assess strengths/needs of children and families; enhance protective factors, reduce risks
Conduct face-to-face interviews to assess safety and risk
Provide referrals, guidance, and supports to improve family functioning
Organize and lead case conferences and/or participate in Family Circles
Build client confidence and life skills
Ensure compliance with case management standards and policies
Maintain accurate, complete documentation per Family-Centered Case Management standards
Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of services and supports
Use Redmane system for case documentation and management
Meet all legal and procedural requirements; attend court and provide testimony
Develop and implement safety plans with appropriate supports
Participate in intake and rotating on-call after-hours services
Update client contact info for administrative accuracy (e.g., payments)
Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures
Perform other related duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION
BISW or BSW
Minimum 2+ years experience in child protection
Valid Class 5 drivers license with acceptable abstract
Clear criminal record with vulnerable sector check
COMPETENCIES
Knowledge of family dynamics
Understanding of Saskatchewan Child & Family Services Act
Awareness of residential school impacts and relevance to OLCN
Ability to work under pressure and manage stressful situations
Program development and planning experience
Strong ethics and professional judgment
Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
