Description

The Ministry of Social Services is seeking term Childrens Service Workers for the Creighton office, offering meaningful work that supports the safety, wellbeing, and longterm stability of children and families. The ministry provides an inclusive environment, opportunities for growth, and values strong community relationships. Services are delivered using the P.R.I.D.E. model and the Family Centered Case Management Model of practice.

They are looking for individuals with a sincere commitment to relationshipbased practice, strong critical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to work collaboratively with families, foster caregivers, community partners, and First Nation Child and Family Service agencies. Candidates must be able to travel, work flexible hours including evenings or weekends, and transport children or parents as part of service delivery.

Qualified applicants will hold a Bachelor of Social Work, Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work, or an equivalent human services degree with related experience. Accepted fields include Sociology, Psychology, Education, Human Justice, Indigenous Studies, Nursing, or Psychiatric Nursing. Knowledge of multicultural values, particularly First Nations and Mtis cultures, as well as an understanding of poverty and systemic issues, is essential. Strong advocacy skills and the ability to remove barriers to client wellbeing are also important.

Responsibilities may include casework and permanency planning, assessing needs, developing and implementing case plans, coordinating placements, supporting longterm planning, consulting with professionals, and maintaining accurate documentation.
