Description

The Property Management team is seeking a motivated Building Operator in Saskatoon to help ensure safe, comfortable, and wellmaintained facilities for government clients and staff.

They are looking for a reliable, adaptable, and serviceoriented individual who can supervise staff, work independently or collaboratively, and respond effectively to changing priorities. The ideal candidate is a strong problem solver with solid organizational skills, capable of working in physically demanding conditions and maintaining positive relationships with clients and coworkers. A valid drivers licence is required.

Key knowledge and skills include general building repair and maintenance, understanding of cleaning and maintenance standards, and the ability to safely operate and maintain equipment. Candidates should bring a Firemans Boiler Operator Certificate and a Refrigeration Engineer Certificate, or a 5th Class Power Engineer Certificate, along with at least two years of experience in building maintenance, heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. Experience with DDC controls is an asset. Knowledge of safety standards, Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, and Employment Standards is also important.

Responsibilities may include performing routine and preventative maintenance, completing minor repairs, operating equipment, maintaining supplies, performing lawn care and snow removal, ensuring facility safety, and supervising ministry staff.
