Description

The Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport supports quality of life and economic growth by managing Saskatchewans parks system and offering recreation, sport, heritage, and cultural opportunities. The ministry is seeking a motivated Park Maintenance Worker for Echo Valley Provincial Park, offering meaningful work in a teamfocused environment committed to equity, diversity, inclusion, and reconciliation.

They are looking for a flexible, reliable team player who can work independently, contribute to a positive workplace, and respond courteously to public inquiries. The ideal candidate is physically capable, organized, and able to identify problems, consider options, and take appropriate action. A valid drivers licence and weekend availability are required.

Key knowledge and skills include basic cleaning and sanitation methods, safe operation and minor repair of buildings and equipment, and familiarity with WHMIS, OH&S, Public Health Regulations, and TDG. Knowledge of small water treatment and distribution systems, including Class 1 Water Systems, is important, as the role may involve monitoring and inspecting water and sewer systems. Experience using hand tools, light equipment, and performing grounds and facility maintenance is essential, along with the ability to lift, carry, and move supplies and equipment. Supervisory ability is an asset.

Responsibilities may include building and grounds maintenance, janitorial work, garbage collection, operating light to heavy equipment such as tractors, trucks, mowers, skid steers, ATVs, chainsaws, and snowmobiles, and ensuring compliance with safety and riskmanagement standards.
