Janitor  Camp Okema (Emma Lake, SK)

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming camp environment while supporting the mission and vision of Camp Okema. This role oversees the daily cleaning and upkeep of camp facilities, including washrooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces.

Key responsibilities include sanitizing high-touch surfaces, managing waste and recycling, monitoring food storage and water quality logs, and assisting with minor repairs alongside the maintenance coordinator. The Janitor also supports camp set-up, weekly upkeep, and end-of-season clean-up and inspections.

This position is well-suited for someone who is detail-oriented, adaptable, and enjoys working as part of a team to solve problems and maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Lodging and meals are provided.

Tasks and Responsibilities
Supporting the mission and vision of Camp Okema.
Responsible for the general cleanliness and maintenance of the facilities at camp
Sanitize common touch areas several times daily.
Wash windows, floors, remove spider webs, mow the lawn, rake the beach, empty garbage and recycling bins, etc.
Check daily logs of temperatures of refrigerators and freezers, and water quality.
Assist the maintenance coordinator with facility repairs.
Daily sanitize and check the cleanliness of washrooms and other shared spaces.
Complete end-of-camp inspection, in coordination with camp leaders and rentals
Maintain a filled woodpile
Regular monthly check of smoke alarms
maintain daily/monthly logs.
Assist in emergency situations.
Assist in camp set-up and weekly & season's end clean up.
Attend and participate in staff meetings
Assist in receiving and storing food and other supplies.
Submit a criminal record check, including a vulnerable sector search and a valid driver's license
