The ministry is seeking a highly motivated Equipment Operator for the Wakaw Section who values teamwork, safety, and service to the travelling public. Strong situational awareness, sound decisionmaking in all weather conditions, and the ability to contribute positively to a team are essential.
Candidates must hold a valid Class 1A license and provide a current driver abstract if interviewed. Basic computer skills are required for email, timecards, and expense submissions. Experience operating heavy equipment, working in challenging weather, and maintaining safe work practices will support success in this role.
Responsibilities include operating and maintaining heavy equipment such as tandem trucks, graders, and loaders; using advanced hydraulic systems during snow operations; performing surveillance and maintenance to ensure public safety; keeping accurate daily records; and working flexible hours as needed.
