Education:
Youth Care Worker Diploma, Early Childhood Education and/or combination of relevant education, training and/or experience
Degree in the Human Services Field and/or
Diploma and at least 3 years in a residential setting and/or
5 years of experience in a residential setting
Desirable Qualifications:
Respect and promote First Nation philosophy, values and beliefs
Will ensure that the Residential Standards of Care set out by MSS and the Customary Standards of Care set out by FSIN are upheld
Ensure proper documentation which includes: files, logbooks, incident reports, progress reports, medical practitioner reports, suicide risk assessments, safety plans, and safety contracts are completed
May assist in the admission/discharge process of children
Ensure that Individual Crisis Management Plan (ICMP) are completed and updated as needed
Ensuring Primary Child Care Workers complete their Case Conference Reports and Summaries as per standard
The Program Manager will supervise, coach, discipline and train the Program Supervisors, Child Care Workers and Outreach Worker
Program Manager will review and approve activity planning
Assist in the ongoing development of program policies and operating standards that conform to the principles of best practices and government program standards, policy and legislation
Maintain effective and positive relationship between the program and external partners involved in the lives of the children
Follow critical incident reporting as per core standards
Mediate employee conflicts/grievances
Maintain budgeted allocations that includes: cultural, programming/recreation, grocery, residents personal spending, clothing and allowance
Ensure all medications are given out as per standard
Safe disposal of unused medication'
Scheduling of shifts in their Programs
The Program Manager will have on-call duties
