Muskowekwan Prevention Services is seeking an Intake Officer to serve as the first point of contact for Muskowekwan families, youth, and children. This role supports access to prevention services and aims to reduce the number of children entering care.
The Intake Officer coordinates and delivers primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention programming for at-risk families living on-reserve. Responsibilities include responding to community calls and referrals, completing intake assessments, and developing prevention case plans and projects in alignment with ISC Terms and Conditions. The position involves planning and facilitating family support programs, workshops, cultural activities, and community outreach initiatives.
The Intake Officer maintains accurate documentation, including data entry, project tracking, budgets, and quarterly reporting, ensuring compliance with Provincial Child and Family Services standards. The role also supports stakeholder engagement and promotes culturally safe, trauma-informed service delivery.
Qualifications:
Degree or diploma in Social Work, Indigenous Social Work, Human Justice, or related field
Minimum 2 years experience in Indigenous child, family, or community services
Strong communication, organizational, and administrative skills
Knowledge of Muskowekwan First Nation culture and surrounding communities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Valid drivers license and ability to travel
Working Conditions:
Office-based with community outreach; some evening and weekend work required.
Terms:
Full-time (40 hours per week) with benefits. Successful candidate must provide a valid drivers license and pass a criminal record and vulnerable sector check.
